God's Secret

Yes! God had a secret! And we had a box gift-wrapped with it inside! We kept about 20 children in suspense giving clues throughout the hour to help them work out just what that secret was.

This special programme was the children's service for Pentecost Sunday, the 11th of June 2000. While the parents came together for a united church service in the town centre, their children enjoyed action songs, parachute games, drama, and a story on the life of Peter. The entire morning's activities gave clues that all related to the Holy Spirit -his power, how he works, and how we are different with Him in our lives. Vicki did an overview of the life of Peter through a chalk-talk showing how different Peter's life was before and after God's Secret.

At the end of the morning, the gift box was passed around for each child to have a peek inside. They were surprised (and confused!) when they saw a mirror in the box and their reflection inside. God's Secret was that the Holy Spirit could live in each one of them who believe. Since Pentecost, God's Holy Spirit is for "you and your children and all who are far off". God's Secret is out! He desires to live within each one of us!
