New Beginnings Mean New Blessings

We were invited to be a part of the Brixham URC Away Day on 8 July 2000. This is a special day where the members of this church can come together and look at God's Word whilst also having a fun day away. This year the Away Day was held at the Buckfast Abbey, a medieval monastery. Our responsibility was to plan and teach the children's programme for the day.

theme song and story

We took for our theme 'New Beginnings mean New Blessings' because starting this August the church will be welcoming a new minister and will be starting again. Looking at the life of Joseph in four sessions, we learned about all the new starts he had in his life and how God blessed him throughout each new beginning because of his faithfulness.

games

We had a theme song, badges to make, a lego story, dramas with the children, and games, one that included the parachute!

As part of the Away Day there were afternoon fun games and a chance for a walk and a break.

All of the children had a great day and enjoyed learning about Joseph. We pray that the truth of 'New Beginnings mean New Blessings' was planted firmly in their minds and hearts.
